(VIDEO) Indiana Tragedy: Seventh Victim Dies In Stage Collapse

(NOTE: since this story was posted two more victims have died.  On August 22, the family of 24-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio native Meagan Toothman says she was taken off life support and died.)

The Indiana State Fair reopens Monday with a memorial service to those killed on Saturday night. Five people lost their lives when a gust of wind took down the concert stage just minutes before the band Sugarland was to begin their set.

Here’s video of the collapse:

The band did not perform in Indianapolis, and canceled their show Sunday at the Iowa State Fair.

Here’s a portion of the statement published on the band’s web site:

“…aside from coping with the magnitude of the accident, the ongoing investigation prevents the band from getting what may remain of their stage equipment. ”

No members of the band were injured. Indiana officials hope to reschedule Train and Maroon 5, Janet Jackson, and Lady Antebellum.

Jennifer Nettles of  Sugarland says “all that’s left are prayers for peace in the hearts of the bereft, and prayers of thanksgiving for those who were spared or safe.   A piece of our heart is left in that grandstand.   May God provide peace and healing to the people of Indianapolis.
