Two escapees from Lansing turned themselves in to police Wednesday night in Kansas City, Kan. Police received a tip the pair might be in that area.

Matthew Glen Allender and Chad Duane Amack escaped from the prison’s minimum security unit on Tuesday. Police took the pair into custody without incident in the 000 block of North 5th Street and were taken back to Lansing on Wednesday, police said.

Amack is serving a 23-month sentence for theft and aggravated burglary in Shawnee County. Allender is serving a 23-month sentence for a theft case from Shawnee County.
