Missouri Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler hopes to stave off what she calls draconian cuts to the defense budget. The Super Committee failed to trim $1.2-trillion from the federal budget, which may trigger massive automatic cuts to the military.

Hartzler says members of Congress need to ease those cuts, and she thinks they will. The Republican representative says President Obama is wrong to say cuts in defense are necessary to balance the budget. Hartzler says there are better options, and she and other members of Congress will work on finding a more constructive approach.
