BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) – Two brothers from northwest Missouri are charged with abandoning the corpse of a woman in rural Cass County.

The woman’s body was found Sunday near Garden City.

Fifty-two-year-old Lance S. Gross of Blue Springs and 49-year-old Marlin S. Gross of Lee’s Summit were charged Monday.

Lance Gross is being held on $150,000 bond. Marlin Gross was not yet in custody.

Court records say Lance Gross told police he injected the woman with Valium during rough sex on Jan. 20. He says he passed out and found her dead when he woke up.

Court records say Marlin Gross went to his brother’s home Jan. 23 and helped him drive the body to rural Cass County, where it was left in a creek.
