Northwest softball series at Drury postponed

The season opening series for the Northwest Missouri State softball team with Drury University this weekend has been pushed back to Tuesday, Feb. 14, due to impending weather in southwest Missouri.

Start times for the double header with the Bearcats and Panthers are still set for a first pitch at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Northwest is coming off a 25-19 season and an MIAA postseason tournament berth. Under sixth-year head coach, Ryan Anderson, the Bearcats have appeared in four MIAA tournaments and earned one NCAA Regional berth in 2008.

The Panthers are coming off their best season ever under second-year head coach Chantiel Wilson with a 26-30 record. Last year Drury advance to the GLVC postseason tournament for the first time in the program’s young four-year existence.
