Missouri lawmakers are working on a bill inspired by the Casey Anthony trial. Caylee’s law would require a parent, guardian, or legal custodian to report a missing child within 24 hours.
Representative Kathie Conway says it would have made a difference in the Anthony case. Representative Nick Marshall says the bill could be abused by ex-spouses trying to make trouble for their “ex.” He is offering to work with the sponsor to tighten the language. The Committee on Legislative Research is also suggesting changes to make the bill workable.
