Missouri Western’s Jackie Bishop has been named MIAA Softball Student-Pitcher of the Week for action from the beginning of the season through Feb. 20, as selected by a conference SID panel.

Bishop, a sophomore from Kirksville, has been outstanding this season giving up just 15 hits in five games as well as just five earned runs.

She is averaging 12 strikeouts per contest as she has had 13 strikeouts twice. She has walked 10 batters in 36 innings of work which includes one shutout which was against 12th ranked Arkansas-Monticello. She double digit strikeouts in just six games last season and has done if five times this year. Her 13 strikeouts is a career high and is tied for the MWSU single game high since 2002.
