(UPDATE) St Joe Officer Injured In Foot Chase

A St Joseph police officer was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center early Wednesday after injuring his knee in a foot chase.

A police officer noticed at least two people slumped down in a red Pontiac Sunfire parked in front of 912 Powell Street shortly after 1 a.m.

A third suspect emerged from the apartment, but hid from the officer.

That subject was later spotted running out the back door.

A foot chase ensued in which an officer injured his knee. The officer was treated and released at Heartland.

Police impounded the vehicle and took four people into custody for investigation of drug possession and resisting arrest. So far they have not been charged.
