SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) – A Missouri woman says she deserves a reward for turning in a British man suspected of pulling off a $1.6 million heist in 1993.
Jessica S. King is the 25-year-old daughter in law of Edward John “Fast Eddie” Maher, who was arrested earlier this month.
Maher is suspected of robbing an armored car in Britain and then disappearing for 19 years. Her lawyer says she is pursuing a $158,000 reward offered for information leading to his arrest.
Ozark police and FBI agents arrested Maher after King tipped them off that he was in southern Missouri. He’s being held on Missouri gun charges.
Lawyer Brandon Potter says King feels she’s entitled to the reward. Potter is trying to determine the exact specifications of the original $158,000 reward offer.
