The Missouri Western tennis team picked up its second victory of the season with a 5-4 victory over Graceland University. Western;s bottom three players picked up victories helping the Griffons to the victory. Western improves to 2-3 on the season. The defeat was the first for Graceland as they sit at 3-1 on the season.

Western opened up winning two of the three doubles matches. Nicole Kerr and Katie Field beat Sofia Jaramillo and Joyanne Carroll 8-5 in No. 2 doulbes while Erin Ward and Alicia Jenkins beat Hannah Greenwood and Heidi Meyer 8-1 in No. 3 doubles.

The Griffons got down 4-2 loosing their first three singles matches, but their fourth, fifth and sixth players all picked up vcitories. Ward beat Greenwood 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 while Jenkins beat Carroll 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. Field gave the Griffons the victory defeating Meyer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Western returns to action on Monday, March, 5 when they host Johnson County Community College Match time is set for 1:30 pm in St. Joseph, Mo.
