Missouri Western softball moves up to No. 10 in latest NFCA Top 25

The Missouri Western softball team won five more games last week and moved up three spots to 10th in the latest NFCA Division II National Poll which was released Wednesday morning.  The Griffons have won 10 of its last 11 games and sit at 19-4 overall and 4-0 in MIAA action.

Jackie Bishop has led the charge on the mound starting the season 10-1 with a 1.09 ERA with 108 strikeouts. At the plate freshman Breanna Fleschner is batting .455 with 15 hits in 33 at bats. Maegan Roemmich, Keri Lorbert, Taylor Anding and Blair Stalder are all batting over .300 for Western. Lorbert had five RBI in her last game and leads the team with 25 on the year.

The Griffons play two double headers this weekend.  They play to MIAA action on Friday, March 16 with a double header against Northwest Missouri State at 1:00 pm and will wrap up the week hosting Truman State in a double header at 1:00 pm. All games are played at the Griffon Softball Field at the Spring Sports Complex on the campus of MWSU.
