ST. LOUIS (AP) — An 8-year-old boy is in juvenile custody after he brought a loaded gun to a south St. Louis school on Thursday.

KMOV-TV reports officers were called to the Confluence Academy around 8:30 a.m. after getting reports that a gun was brought on campus.

Police said school officials searched a student’s bag and found the loaded gun. Authorities were called to the scene and took the boy into juvenile custody.

No injuries were reported.
