Bodies Found In Western Iowa Park

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Two bodies have been found at Lake Manawa State Park in western Iowa.

Authorities say a passer-by discovered the bodies about 7 p.m. Sunday in woods about 400 yards from a boat ramp that runs into the Missouri River.

Authorities have not revealed the victims’ names or possible causes of death. It’s unclear whether authorities suspect the bodies are those of 41-year-old Charlotte Schilling and her 10-year-old son, Owen, who have been missing from their home in Plattsmouth, Neb., since May 10.

Police say Schilling’s vehicle was found near Lake Manawa, which sits south of Council Bluffs. The lake is northeast of Plattsmouth, Neb., across the Missouri River. Her wallet and cellphone were in the car.
