Three people were injured Sunday in a mishap involving two all-terrain vehicles in Mercer County.

According to an online accident report, one ATV abruptly turned in front of the other. The second vehicle clipped the rear of the first and then overturned.

Lacey D. Edwards, 22, of Hamilton, Mo., suffered serious injuries, and is being treated at North Kansas City Hospital.

 

Edwards was ejected from the ATV she was riding in. The driver, John L. Whitsell of Clarksdale, suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Bethany Hospital.

The other driver, Stephen Farr, 23, of Stewartsville, Mo., refused treatment for minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident eight miles west of Princeton on Holly Road at 4:15pm Sunday. None of the victims was wearing a helmet.
