Governor Jay Nixon signs legislation today allowing Missourians to add their cellphone numbers to the state’s No Call List for telemarketers. Nixon scheduled signing ceremonies at senior centers in St. Louis and Kansas City. Attorney General Chris Koster, whose office maintains the No Call List, planned to attend both events.
Cellphone numbers that are added to the list would be off-limits to most solicitations by phone call or text message. Koster’s office has reported getting 150 to 200 calls a week from people complaining about telemarketing calls to cellphones. The new law goes into effect August 28.
