Lost-Dog Homecoming After Four Years

BARNHART, Mo. (AP) — When the little dog Tessa went missing four years ago, her family figured the coyotes had gotten her.

It turned out she just wandered off. On Thursday, Tessa came home.

Tessa went missing in 2008, leaving Sophie Roorda of the St. Louis-area town of Barnhart, who was 7 at the time, wondering what became of her pet.

The newspaper says a family in Fenton, a few miles from Barnhart, found the dog and took her to an animal hospital. Staffers found a microchip with the owner’s contact information.

Sophie couldn’t believe her eyes when her dad brought the terrier through the front door.
