Kansas corrections officials are searching for two escapees from a prison in Winfield.
Authorities say they used a state vehicle to escape from the Winfield Correctional Facility in south central Kansas. The box truck was found about 15 miles away.
Robert Cook is 52 years of age with gray hair, hazel eyes and a gray beard. He is approximately 5’10” tall and weighs about 225 pounds.
Frank Crutchfield is 48 years of age, with long reddish gray hair that he usually ties back in a pony tail He has a reddish gray beard and has blue eyes. He is approximately 5’11” tall and weighs about 231 pounds.
The vehicle was used to transport food from the Holly kitchen where it is prepared to the inmate dining room. Mr. Cook was assigned as the driver to transport the food.
Cook has convictions for burglary and theft out of Harvey County, Cowley County and Butler County, aggravated indecent solicitation out of Pratt County and aggravated escape conviction from 1983 out of Sedgwick County.
Mr. Crutchfield is serving time for multiple burglaries, thefts and criminal damage to property out of Sedgwick County and an aggravated escape from custody in 1983 from Shawnee County.
Law enforcement agencies are assisting Winfield Correctional Facility officers in the search for these offenders. The community is encouraged to report anyone matching the description of these offenders by calling 911.
