Robinson Cano, the captain of the American League team in the MLB Home Run Derby, did not pick Royals DH Billy Butler for the squad.

When he took the field Monday night, Kansas City fans booed Cano of the Yankees. Here’s a pretty good reason why: Cano earlier told ESPN you HAVE to pick a home town player.

Detroit Tiger Prince Fielder won the Home Run Derby. Fielder told reporters that Cano holds no hard feelings toward Butler, and said Cano handled the booing and the jeers with class.
