Carthage Winery Wins Gold In Grapeville Competition

The White Rose Winery at Carthage, Mo., won a Gold Medal with its Norton wine in a competition in Grapeville, Texas.

The Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association hosted the 29th Annual Lone Star International Wine Competition at the Grapevine Convention Center.

This year 514 wines from around the world were judged in more than 30 categories by a panel of restaurant owners, sommeliers, chefs and other wine experts from Texas.

 

Thirty-six Gold, 171 Silver and 203 Bronze medals were awarded to entries from the U.S., South America, Australia, and Spain.

According to a news release, White Rose’s Norton has no measureable sulfites. The Norton won Gold and White Rose’s Sweet Lady in Red won a Bronze medal in the International division of the competition.
