Robidoux Resident Theatre Expands Offerings


The Robidoux Resident Theater announced formation of two new theater companies, and released details of their first seasons.

The Encore Arts Alliance will present “BritBeat: A Beatles Tribute” November 2nd. The performance includes a full media and light display.

They will also present “Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein” November 16-18. The production includes more than 30 of their biggest Broadway hits.

Quixotic: Cirque du Soleil opened the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City last year. Now they’re scheduled to amaze us at the Missouri Theatre. The show is described as a mix of violin-based pop, ballet, modern dance, Cirque du Soleil-like aerobatics and a dazzling light show. One night only: February 9, 2013.

“Juke Box Junction” features The Glenn Miller Orchestra and The Diamonds in concert April 12, 2013. Two major nostalgic attractions present a non-stop musical review including four decades of hits.

The Upstairs Downtown Theatre Troupe is a new company of the RRT, and will present professional performances of children’s literature performed by adults.

“If You Give a Mouse a Cookie: A Touring Show,” deals with a boy named Estaurado who gives a mouse a cookie. The international hit by children’s author Laura Numeroff is available for bookings starting October 20.

Theatre Works USA and the RRT will also present Seussical the Musical, one of the most-produced shows in America, featuring Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, and other favorites.
