Animal cruelty charges are possible against someone who taped a box turtle to a bunch of baloons in Oceanside, California.

The hapless turtle was spotted dangling in a eucalyptus tree.

The animal dangled from the tree for about an hour before the fire department rolled up with a big ladder truck.

As they were able to about to rescue the turtle, a gust of wind blew him down to the ground.

A Humane Society employee then cut the turtle free from the balloons.

The turtle wasn’t physically hurt.
