Tobacco will be banned on the Missouri Western State University campus in St. Joseph starting next summer.
Faculty, staff and students were notified by E-mail of the change Thursday.
University President Dr. Robert Vartabedian approved the change Tuesday.
Students fell just short of signing off on the tobacco-free plan in a vote last year, but Provost Jeanne Daffron says it is the university’s responsibility to provide a healthy campus for everyone.
