A second man who was in a southwest Missouri diner when a semitrailer plowed into it more than a week ago has died of his injuries.

Officials say 71-year-old John Becker of Nevada, Mo., died Thursday at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was injured when a truck crashed into the Quick Dine Restaurant in Nevada on Oct. 19.

The crash also killed 54-year-old Joseph Cole of Nevada.

The truck driver couldn’t avoid a car that pulled in front of him, hitting both the car and then the diner.

Two other diners at the restaurant also were injured in the crash.
