Second Harvest Community Food Bank announced today that David Davenport has concluded his tenure at Second Harvest, effective as of October 31, 2012.

“The organization has experienced considerable growth during Mr. Davenport’s tenure. The organization will continue to work hard to build hunger-free communities in our region.” said Second Harvest chairman Chad Higdon, in a news release.

Higdon says they will form a search committee with members of the board and the community soon to seek a replacement for Davenport.

Davenport came our way last year from Austin, Texas, where he held a similar position with the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. He was this year’s commencement speaker at Northwest Missouri State University.
