Former Second Harvest director David Davenport says he and the board of directors had different visions for the food bank. In a statement on his Facebook page, Davenport says the organization is serving more people and has been recognized for excellence since he arrived. But he says it’s at a crossroads between where it is and where it needs to go.
He says a CEO who sees a different future from what the board of directors sees must step aside so the board can drive its own vision. Davenport’s statement concludes, “I loved my team and respect the board and know in my heart Second Harvest will continue to do amazing things in the lives of those in need.”
