Northwest Missouri State University is planning an election eve debate.

“Red vs. Blue: What the 2012 Election Means for You” will feature conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg and Peter Beinart,the former editor of The New Republic.

There is no cost to attend the 7:30 p.m. debate Monday in the Mary Linn Auditorium at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.

A political science professor will moderate.

Both speakers have written books. Goldberg’s titles include “Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning.” Beinart is the author of “The Good Fight: Why Liberals — And Only Liberals — Can Win the War on Terror and Make America Great Again.”
