Hi, I’m Kate.  I’m an ordinary girl that goes to an ordinary school, but there is something you don’t know about me.  My dad lost his job awhile back and since then my family has spent all of our savings and maxed out all of our credit cards.  I cracked open my piggy bank but it didn’t help.  I’m scared because my family is about to lose our home.  Our family has to make pretty tough decisions and sometimes that means we don’t have enough money for food.  This makes my tummy hurt.  Did you know there at 17,000 kids in our region that are hungry just like me?  We all have empty bellies when we go to bed at night.  I was really sad, but then my parents found out about Second Harvest Community Food Bank.  Here, food is donated from companies and individuals.  Then, it’s distributed to Partner Agencies and program that provide the food to me and my family, and that makes my tummy feel good!
