For the second time in a week, soldiers based at Fort Riley, Kansas are mourning the loss of one of their own.
The Defense Department announced the death of Sgt. Matthew H. Stiltz, 26, of Spokane, Wash.
The Pentagon announcement says Stiltz died November 12 at Zerok, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire.
Stiltz was was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
Army Captain James D. Nehl of Gardiner, Ore., also based at Fort Riley, was killed in combat November 9th.
