Douglas H. King
1924-2012

Douglas H. King, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, November 22, 2012 
at a local healthcare facility. He was born July 2, 1924 to Elza and Myrtle 
(Brown) King. Mr. King married Ruby Kiser. They later divorced. 
On June 6, 1970, he married Helen Irene Parker. She preceded him in death 
on June 25, 2012. He was a member of the VFW and served as a machinist in 
the United States Navy during World War II. Douglas was preceded in death 
by his parents; wife; and brother, Don King. Survivors: daughter, Nila Hale, 
Savannah, Missouri; sons, Howard King, St. Joseph, Missouri, 
Paul King (Karla), Blue Springs, Missouri, Steve King (Vicky), 
Hamilton, Missouri; step children, Rufena Burton, Daniel Parker Jr., 
Sally Roberts, Jeff Parker; ten grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; 
two brothers, Dean King (Norma), Duane King (Peggy); and numerous nieces 
and nephews. Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. 
Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour 
prior to the service Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family
