Missouri Western’s production of “Annie” opens Thursday night. Director Dallas Henry, assistant professor of theater and cinema, says he chose Annie for a couple of reasons. It’s set during the Great Depression but it’s about optimism and hope. It’s one of his mother’s favorite shows, and since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease two years ago, Henry is dedicating the performance to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research.
The opening performance is at 7:30 Thursday evening at Potter Hall Theater. Tickets are available online, in person at the box office, or by phone at 816.271.4452.
