Lela Faye Knadler

1918-2012

Lela Faye Knadler, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1918 to Earl Orestus and Clara Louise (Miller) Rapp in Easton, Missouri. She married Herbert E. Knadler, Sr. on February 28, 1940. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Knadler was baptized in the Platte River then became a member of Midway Baptist Church near Easton, Missouri. After her marriage she then became a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, Missouri where she served as song leader. She was also a member and past president of the Oakland Extension Club. Lela enjoyed photography, her friends called her “Shutter Bug”. She made a picture album for each of her four children and seven grandchildren to treasure, and they did. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and greatly enjoyed doing things for them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert E. Knadler; daughter, Janet Faye Haley; and eight siblings, Grace Jackson, Ida Lewis, Nellie Clark, Louise Kerns, Fern Lang, Ruth Riley, John Rapp and Jess Rapp. Survivors: three children, Roger Knadler (Joyce), Jerry Knadler (Debbie) and Herbie Knadler (Judy), all of Easton, Missouri; son-in-law, Art Haley; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Roderick, Kathy Kunze, Jeff Zach, Angie, Tom and Kyle Knadler; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Blakely Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
