Chad Higdon Named Interim Executive Director At Second Harvest

Chad Higdon

The board of directors of Second Harvest Community Food Bank announced today that Chad Higdon has been appointed as Interim Executive Director of the organization.

“Chad was chosen because of his knowledge of Second Harvest through his years of volunteer service with the organization,” said Brett Carolus, the organization’s newly appointed board chair.

“He has a true desire to help the organization continue to nourish our neighbors and Chad is well respected by the community and we’re very fortunate he’s able to step in as the interim while we search for our full-time CEO.”

Higdon steps in to fill the position left by David Davenport last October.

The board of directors came to a unanimous vote to elect Higdon as Interim Executive Director. Higdon will take a leave of absence from his role as Field Representative for Congressman Sam Graves until the search committee selects a full-time CEO.

“I am very excited to be given this opportunity to help lead Second Harvest through this time of transition,” said Higdon. “This is an exciting time for Second Harvest as Fresh Start, Your Community Market prepares to open. I am looking forward to working with our very competent staff as we continue to help nourish or neighbors in need.”
