Evelyn Rose Peterson
Maryville, Missouri

Evelyn Rose Peterson, 96, Maryville, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 19,
2012,  at Village Care Center in Maryville.
Evelyn  was born  July 25, 1916, in Maryville, to Fred  and Elizabeth
(Wilmes) Auffert.
She was a 1934 graduate of  St. Patrick’s High School,  a homemaker and had
worked as a bookkeeper for the JC Penney Store all of Maryville.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Russell Carl  Peterson on  April 14, 1955,
in Maryville.  Evelyn and Russell spent most of their married life on a farm
near Maitland, Missouri.  While living in Maitland, Evelyn was a member of
the Town and Country Extension Club, Community Betterment Program, and the
Depot Crew.  They retired from farming in 1985, moving back to Maryville.
Russell preceded her in death on April 3, 1987.
While living in Maryville, Evelyn  was an honorary member of the MO Omicron
Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Widow Person Service, and various card
clubs.  She was a lifelong devout Catholic and was a member of St. Gregory’s
Catholic Church, Maryville; where she was active in the St. Therese’s Guild.
Others preceding her in death were brothers Sylvester, Richard,and Fred
Auffert, and two sisters Kay Pfeifer Taylor and Marie Gallagher.
Survivors include three sister-in-laws, Shirley Auffert and Isabelle
Auffert, both of Maryville, and Arvella Peterson, Atlantic, Iowa; five
nephews; eight nieces, and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.
For those that had the privlege of knowing her, she will be remembered as a
very kind, faithful, and fun loving woman and will be truly missed.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7 PM, Friday, December 21 at St. Gregory’s
followed by a Parish Rosary at 7 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held
at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church at 10 AM, Saturday, December 22.  Burial
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryville.

Daniel J. Gross

1957-2012

Daniel J. Gross, 55, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on May 2, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Daniel married Dorothy Nolan on November 30, 1976. She survives of the home. He was a successful business owner and operator of A-1 Industries and Gross Disposal, loved travelling, was a workaholic and a proud grandpa. Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his father, David Welter; grandparents, Rose and Albert Logeais; uncle, Rich Logeais; and Daniel and Joyce Nolan. Survivors: wife; son, Daniel Gross II, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Chelsey Gross Johnson, St. Joseph, Missouri; mother, Vila Fisher; son, Billy Johnson, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Rachel Gross, St. Joseph, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kileigh “Miss May” Johnson, Kollin Daniel “Mr. Man” Johnson, Sami “Beano” Justice, Jordan “Jord Girl” Gross, Beau “Bo-Bo” Gross, Caleb Johnson; four sisters, Lisa Logeais, Terry Fitzwilson, Sandy Bowles, Robin Chatley; and four brothers, Joe Gross, Doyle, John and Dennis Welter. Services: 4:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 P.M.
