I-29 is closed from the north junction with I-229 north to the Iowa state line in both directions of travel.

The Midland Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross has set up several shelters for stranded motorists.

The Laura Street Baptist Church at 120 S. Laura Street in Maryville.

The Red Cross is offering shelter for motorists stranded along US-36 at Cameron as well.
