Holly Taube, 29, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, December 24, 2012 at her home. She was born December 3, 1983 to Charles and Donna Taube in Trenton, Missouri. Holly was employed at Fast Gas on St. Joseph Avenue for four years. She attended North Andrew High School, where she was a 2002 graduate. She had an infectious smile, loved all animals, going to concerts, watching Roller Derby, and LOVED her family. Ms. Taube was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Luther Starrett (Donna); paternal grandfather, David Taube; and niece, Joslyn Taube. Melissa N. Pittam

Melissa N. Pittam, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, December 24, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. Melissa Knosp Pittam was born on March 7, 1925 to Ivan and Augusta McBrien in McCook, Nebraska. After graduating from McCook High School she married Harold Knosp in 1942, joining him during his naval service. They had one son, Lawrence Dewey Knosp. After her husband’s retirement in 1968, they resided in St. Joseph. In 1970, she graduated from Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, teaching for eighteen years at Pershing School. She attained her Master’s degree from Northwestern Missouri Western State University. In 1987, she married Charles Pittam who is deceased. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Cathedral where she sang in the choirs, lectured, played piano occasionally for Mass, member of St. Anne’s Altar Society, sewing group, and bell choir. She enjoyed quilting at St. Mart’s and St. Francis Xavier and her active membership in the Ladies of Charity. Playing bridge was one of her favorite pasts times. For the last three years she lived at Corby Place Senior Living, where she found familiar friends and delightful new ones. All her needs and wants were provided by loving and dedicated Staff. Melissa is survived by her son, Larry; grandson, Lawrence, Chantilly, Virginia; sister, Patricia McIlmoyle, Venice, Florida; and nephews and nieces; friend, Raelyn Miller, Helena, Missouri. Robert Lee McGaughy, Jr.

Robert Lee McGaughy, Jr, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home. He was born May 12, 1927 to Robert Sr. and Agnes McGaughy in St. Joseph, Missouri. Robert married Cecilia Garner on September 23, 1947. She survives of the home. He worked for Armour & Company as a butcher for thirty-eight years. Mr. McGaughy was a very active member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved sports, was a Golden Gloves Boxer, and coached Little League baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Lee McGaughy III; daughter, Marcia McGaughy; brothers, Arthur McGaughy, Sr., Tommy McGaughy, and Irvin McGaughy; and sisters, Arthuretta McGaughy and Norma Lee Brown. Survivors: wife; children, William McGaughy (Gisele), St. Joseph, Missouri, Paul McGaughy (Carol), St. Joseph, Missouri, Deborah Hill (Tom), St. Joseph, Missouri, Rebecca Makkers (David), McDonough, Georgia, and Anthony McGaughy (Tammy), St. Joseph, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mable Brown, Denver, Colorado, Rosetta Gray, St. Joseph, Missouri, Frances Thomas, St. Joseph, Missouri, Carolyn Harris, Denver, Colorado, and Carrie May, Denver, Colorado.
