Cold-Weather Shelter Opens

A cold-weather homeless shelter opens in St Joseph Thursday.

My Brother’s House, at 7th and Olive Streets in St. Joseph, was scheduled to open January 3rd at 4:00 p.m.

The operators hope to provide additional shelter for men who are homeless during the winter.

The cold weather shelter is an entity of Community Missions Corporation and is part of a campus that includes Juda House and St. Joseph’s Haven, two facilities that house men who have been chronically homeless in St. Joseph.

The mission of CMC is to provide affordable housing to low and/or moderate income persons, who may be disabled, chronically homeless, or economically disadvantaged. The cold weather shelter is operated by CMC during the coldest months of the year for those who are on the streets and in need of shelter during this time of year.
