Robert Edwin Davis

Robert E. Davis, 65, Barnard, Missouri died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013,
at St Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri.
Robert was born  April 6, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late
Frederick Walter Davis Sr. and Ruth Ann Parker.
Robert was a graduate of the South Nodaway High School Class of 1965,
Barnard.  On March 3, 1966 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp,
serving his country in the Vietnam war, where he was a Sergeant and dog
handler.  He was discharged from the Corp on March 2, 1971.
Robert was united in marriage to Karla Victoria Roser, July 28, 2012 in
Barnard.
Robert was a member of the O’Howell-Strader American Legion Post #102,
Barnard, where he served as a past commander and district commander, a life
member of the Bakersfield, California Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #97,
serving as past commander, and had worked as a building inspector for the
State of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife Karla Roser Davis, of the home; one son Jeff (Gitti)
Davis, Barnard; one daughter Robin Dredge, Kansas City, Missouri; two
grandchildren Erin and Mason Dredge, Maryville; brothers Bill (Judy) Davis,
Lancaster, California, Ted (Gwen) Davis, St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister
Vicki (Jim) Fenner, St. Joseph; step-father Ted Parker, Barnard, several
nieces, nephews, cousins; and his special four legged friend Bailey.
Mr. Davis has been cremated.  Memorial services will be held 10 AM Saturday,
January 12, 2013 at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
Inurnment will be in the American Legion Cemetery, Barnard with military
services under the auspices of the Tri-C American Legion Post #464,
Conception Junction, Missouri and the James Edward Gray American Legion Post
#100, Maryville.
A reception will follow the inurnment at the American Legion Building in
Barnard.
Memorials may be given to O’Howell Strader American Legion Post #102, P.O.
Box 133, Barnard, 64423 or the Bakersfield Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #97,
5350 South Union Avenue, Bakersfield, California  93307.
