Earnest Mack Swing, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. He was born August 9, 1926 to James and Annie Bell (Armstrong) Swing in Petersburg, Tennessee. Earnest married Marguerite Smith on June 27, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 31, 1973. He served in the United States Army from 1950-1952 while stationed in Germany and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Swing obtained a Business degree at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and worked for Wire Rope Corporation of America for thirty-three years in Traffic Control. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and three brothers, Boyd, Linn, and Ray. Survivors: four sons, David Swing (Kathryn), St. Joseph, Missouri, Markus Swing (Michelle), Jackson, Mississippi, Richard Swing (Dawn), St. Joseph, Missouri, Brian Swing (Karen), Kansas City, Missouri; and eight grandchildren, Kale Swing, Marguerite Swing, Matthew Swing, Michael Swing, Cody Swing, Keith Swing (Katherine), Catherine Swing, and Adam Swing. Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday, Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Interment Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
