The St Joseph Police Department on Wednesday announced three promotions brought on by the recent retirement of Commander Jim Connors.

Effective Monday, January 14, Captain Janice Rothganger will be promoted to the rank of commander, Sergeant Mike Wilson will be promoted to the rank of captain, and Detective Todd Derr will be promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Captain Matt Rock says their permanent assignments and transfer dates will be determined at a later date.
