Larry D. Campbell

Larry D. Campbell, 76, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home. He was born July 7, 1936 to Everett Truman and Doris Stevens Campbell in Martinsville, Missouri. Larry married Connie Westlake in 1955. They divorced in 1977. He then married Jean Ann Pearson Barnhouse on September 26, 1977. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1954 and attended Northwest Missouri College for one year. He was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department as a maintenance man in 1955 at Eagleville, Missouri. In 1965 he was transferred to the Materials Department and promoted to Inspector. In 1965 he transferred to the district office in St. Joseph, Missouri and promoted as General Aggregate Inspector. He was the Missouri State Highway Department “Employee of the Month” in August 1993. He retired in September 1993. He was a Master Mason in the Eagleville Mo Lodge for fifty years, being Worshipful Master in 1960. Larry enjoyed woodworking and made many Missouri clocks that are located throughout the United States. The family would like to thank Dr. Kammerer and nurses, Dr. A.J. and nurses at the Cancer Center and Comfort of Home Healthcare and Hands of Hope Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry L. Campbell;son, Gregory; and daughter, Kim Coker. Survivors: wife, Jean Ann Campbell; St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Jill Kirkendoll (Chad), St. Joseph, Missouri; step-sons, Ray Barnhouse (Paula), Alta Loma, California, Kevin Barnhouse, Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Amy Coker (T.J. Bangerter), Aaron Coker, Ella and Sophie Kirkendoll; great-grandchildren, Ethan Miller, Evan Sinnett; step-grandchildren, Terry Barnhouse (Jana), Shayna, Brandon, and Amanda Barnhouse; four step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Campbell; niece, Nicole Campbell (Terry); nephew, Jeremy Campbell (Cheris); four great nephews; and one great niece. Services: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
