The last of five people involved in an armed burglary near Chillicothe has been sentenced.
On Monday, Presiding Circuit Court Judge Thomas Chapman sentenced Jeffery Dwain Stevens, 38, Chillicothe, to a total of 17 years for his actions in a 2012 day time burglary about 1 mile east of Chillicothe. Officials say Stevens was one of the burglars and in possession of a firearm which was discharged at citizen who arrived at the home.
Judge Chapman gave Mr. Stevens 12 years on Burglary in 1st Degree and 5 years on Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Both sentences are to run consecutive to any other sentences Stevens is currently serving. Stevens had pleaded guilty several weeks ago.
