St Joseph Police say two people suffered moderate to severe injuries Thursday morning after their motorcycle hit a car in the turn lane on the North Belt Highway near Karnes Road.
Traffic Officer Wayne Byrom of the St Joseph Police Department tells us they have reports the bike was traveling faster than the speed limit in the turn lane when another motorist entered that lane to turn off the Belt.
The motorcycle overturned and both occupants were ejected.
Byrom says the driver, Shane Crowe, 35, and his passenger, Collette Royce, 23, were taken to the hospital. A spokeswoman at Heartland Regional Medical Center says Crowe was in critical condition Thursday afternoon. Royce was listed in fair condition. The accident blocked southbound traffic on the Belt for about an hour.
