(Update) Investigation Continues After Shooting On North Side; Victim ID Released

Police say shots may have been fired inside and outside this home in the 400 block of Woodson Friday.

St Joseph Police are investigating a shooting on the north side early Friday afternoon. Captain Matt Rock says details are still unfolding. One person suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Heartland. Another person was arrested.

Police Captain Johnathan Beaver identified the victim as 19-year-old Cody G Johnson. Hospital personnel say Johnson is in serious condition but is expected to survive. Johnson lived at the house where the shooting occurred, at 415 Woodson.

Captain Matt Rock said at the scene a second person was arrested but does not appear to be connected to the shooting.

Police were dispatched to the call of shots fired shortly before one p.m. to a house on Woodson near St Joseph Avenue.

Captain Rock says there may have been an exchange of gunfire between two groups of people. Officers on the scene located several shell casings and other evidence in the street outside the house.

Police were interviewing witnesses in hopes of locating additional suspects in the case.
