William T. O’Connor, 59, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Topeka VA Hospital. He was born April 11, 1953 to Dr. William and Louise O’Connor in St. Joseph, Missouri. William was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, had a lifelong interest in mechanics and electronics, was a devoted dog lover, and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law; and a grandson. Survivors: daughters, Nancy Porter (Jason), Vickie Lynn Hayward (Randy), Stephanie Ann Hathcox; sisters, Suzanne O’Connor, Maureen Watkins, Sheila Rickel, Kerry O’Connor, and Mary Minney; grandchildren, Krystle, April, Tabby, Matthew, Destiny, Caitlin, Brittany, Samantha, and Brandon; great-granddaughter, Melodee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Monday, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Inurnment Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends 3:30-5:00 P.M. Janie Marie Lake, 63, loving wife and caring mother died peacefully January 17, 2013 at her home in Agency, Missouri. She was born August 8, 1949 to O’Neal and Maryanna Fergison in St. Joseph, Missouri and was raised by Juanita Lucille Fergison. Janie married Lawrence L. Lake, Sr. on March 23, 1967. He survives of the home. She was a great wife and mother who fought a long battle with cancer. Janie went to be with her son, Ryan Lake, and her parents, who preceded her in death. Survivors: husband; sons, Vince Lake (Shelly), Agency, Missouri; Lawrence Lake, Jr., St. Joseph, Missouri; grandsons, Tyler Donaldson (Maranda), Austin, Michael and Taylor Lake; and great-grandson, Trey Donaldson. Faye L. Baber, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her home. She was born August 29, 1924 to John Edward and Carrie Ann (Lyons) Grable. Faye married Harold Baber on November 9, 1943. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1975. She was a member of Agency Christian Church and a homemaker. She loved family, sewing, reading, and raising her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Steve, Joe, and Robert Grable; and sisters, Ruby Richardson, Helen Anderson, and Anna Griggs. Survivors: daughters, Deborah DeSchepper (Mike), St. Joseph, Missouri and Janet Wilson (Tony), Stewartsville, Missouri; grandchildren, LeAndra Beauford (Chad), Jason DeSchepper (Heidi), Eric Wilson (Rebecca), and Jessica Foster (Mike); eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Winifred Corkins and Beverly Nieman (Stan); numerous nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Bill Baber.
