Heartland Opens Mosaic Life Care Plastic Surgery Center This Week

Mosaic Life Care logoHeartland Health is opening a new plastic surgery center in St Joseph under its new brand “Mosaic Life Care.”

Heartland CEO and President Dr. Mark Laney will be on hand to introduce the new medical concept at 5204 North Belt Highway Thursday.

Parent organization, Heartland Health, introduced Mosaic Life Care in July 2012 in north Kansas City. The company does not own the trademark for Heartland Health outside this area, and Laney says they will offer something different. Mosaic LIfe Care will offer traditional health care plus a focus on the person as a whole, rather than focusing on just illnesses and conditions.

“Launching Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with plastic surgery is the perfect way to showcase how we are changing the way we deliver care,” says Dr. Laney. “When you provide reconstructive surgery to a breast cancer survivor, you don’t just change her appearance; you have the opportunity to change her outlook on life. We are not here to just treat illness — we are dedicated to helping those we serve live life well.”

Eventually they will transition all of the Heartland brand to the Mosaic Life Care name. In addition to St. Joseph, Mosaic Life Care has family care centers in the northland including Kearney, Parkville, Gladstone, Smithville and Excelsior Springs and a specialty center at Burlington Creek.
