Janie Marie Lake, 63, loving wife and caring mother died peacefully January 17, 2013 at her home in Agency, Missouri.
She was born August 8, 1949 to O’Neal and Maryanna Fergison in St. Joseph, Missouri and was raised by Juanita Lucille Fergison.
Janie married Lawrence L. Lake, Sr. on March 23, 1967. He survives of the home.
She was a great wife and mother who fought a long battle with cancer.
Janie went to be with her son, Ryan Lake, and her parents, who preceded her in death.
Survivors: husband; sons, Vince Lake (Shelly), Agency, Missouri; Lawrence Lake, Jr., St. Joseph, Missouri; grandsons, Tyler Donaldson (Maranda), Austin, Michael and Taylor Lake; and great-grandson, Trey Donaldson.

Hazel N. Pottenger, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, January 18, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born August 3, 1920 to Roscoe and Maude Pottenger in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Hazel was a member of the Faith United Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Pottenger; and brother, Milton Pottenger.

Lois C. Fief
1934-2013
Lois C. Fief, 78, of Independence, Missouri, died Saturday, January 12, 2013.
She was born May 30, 1934 to Floyd J. Basham and Gladys N. (Jones) Basham in Independence, Missouri.

Helen Lee Hodgin Burris, age 88, passed away peacefully at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 19. Helen was the daughter of W.E. “Cap” and Laura Brownlee Hodgin.
She grew up in Maitland, MO, graduated with honors from Maitland High School and received a music scholarship to Northwest Missouri State University,
graduating with honors in music and English.
On May 27, 1947 she married Edward Claunch Burris from Hamilton, Texas. He was a student at Northwest Missouri.
Mrs. Burris was a music teacher at Graham, Hopkins, and Eugene Field in Maryville, MO. After some thirty years, she retired from Cherokee Elementary in the Shawnee Mission School District, where she taught first
grade.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Brownlee Hodgin.
She is survived by her husband, Edward, of the home, and son-at-heart, Patrick Whitney, his wife Jennifer, and their children, Ben and Emma. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Methodist Church in Maitland, MO.
Mrs. Burris’s body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in the Maitland Cemetery, at a later date.
