1959-2013

Scott Alan Henderson “Scott E. Dawg”, 53, St. Joseph, Missouri died unexpectedly Monday, January 21, 2013 with his loving family at his side.
Scott was born July 31, 1959 to Anna and Leon Henderson in St. Joseph, Missouri.
A graduate of Benton High School, Scott spent the next 13 years in the U.S. Navy. His service took him all over the world with duty stations all the way from the Indian Ocean to Italy. He loved regaling us with stories about his Navy days. After returning home, Scott worked in the healthcare system, mostly caring for the elderly; he enjoyed them so much he often referred to them as his “kids”. He was described by his beloved nephews as “Uncle Scott is the best babysitter ever”, cake for breakfast might have had an influence. It had also been said that Scott “Never met a stranger”.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Leon S. Henderson; and grandparents, Leon “Rusty” and Deva Henderson and Sam and Dorothy Wolfe.
Survivors: his mother, Anna Henderson; sisters, Ogretta (Charles) Miller, Springhill, Florida and Kim (Kip) Hornsby, St. Joseph; one daughter, Bobbie Jene Henderson, California; beloved nephews, Alex and Andrew Miller, and Zach and Nick Taul; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Services: The family will be hosting a celebration of Scott’s life on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church. Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be made to Scott Henderson Memorial Account at Nodaway Valley Bank for final arrangements, First Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Marion L. Buczek
1918-2013

Marion L. Buczek, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 18, 1918 to James and Ruth Smith in Brookfield, Missouri.
Marion married John S. Buczek on September 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2005.
She graduated from St. Joseph Junior College and earned a BA in Psychology from Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kansas. She earned a MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, and did postgraduate with St. Mary’s University, Leavenworth, Kansas, and Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, Missouri.
Mrs. Buczek was a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She retired in 1984 as Director of the Psychology Department at Woodson Children’s Psychiatric Hospital where the Marion Buczek Conference Room was named in recognition of her outstanding service. She was a member of the Missouri Psychological Association and American Psychological Association.
She previously was a Psychology Instructor at the former St. Joseph Junior College and prior to that had acted as School Psychologist in the St. Joseph Public School System. In earlier years, she was with the Missouri State Social Security and American Electric Company, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mrs. Buczek was a member of the St. Joseph’s Cathedral, St. Ann’s Altar Society, Ladies of Charity and Knights of Columbus Council 571 Ladies Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother-in-law, Charles Sinclair; and nephew, John Sinclair.
Survivors: sister, Dorothy Sinclair; nieces and nephews, Chuck Sinclair (Judie), Tom Sinclair (Diane), Ann Gleason (Greg), John Michael Pelletier, Sharon Vanderhoof (Ray); great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Friday, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Parish Rosary 6:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
