Spencer L. Singleton, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. He was born July 22, 1933 to Harry and Ethel Singleton in St. Joseph, Missouri where he was a lifelong resident. Spencer married Amy Lucille Wright on June 22, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 29, 1992. He then married Charlotte Jean Goben on July 3, 1994. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2011. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean war on the U.S.S. ship, was a member of King Hill Lodge No 376, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, and Moila Shrine Wrecking Crew. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; brother, Marshal Singleton; sisters, Harriet Singleton and Edith Hickok; grandsons, Andrew Arnold-Singleton and Patrick Arnold-Singleton. Survivors: daughter, Teri Singleton, St. Joseph, Missouri; son, Ron Singleton (Judy), Cameron, Missouri; step-daughters, Valorie Downes (Laurie), Omaha, Nebraska, Charlene Santos, St. Joseph, Missouri, Kim Frazee (Lenny), St. Joseph, Missouri; step-sons, Robert Callison (Rhonda), St. Joseph, Missouri, and Tim Callison;twenty-two grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; nephew, Raymond Hickok, Cosby, Missouri; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Robert Mann Ward, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home. He was born July 18, 1932, in Trenton, Missouri, the third son of Jesse Paul and Marguerite Mann Ward. He graduated from Trenton High School in May 1950. He attended Trenton Junior College for one year and graduated from the Linotype School, which was part of the Journalism School at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. Robert married Wilberta Mae Deegan on January 31, 1954. To this union two children were born. He worked at the Trenton Republican-Times and The St. Joseph New Press & Gazette, retiring in 1998 as Night Production Superintendent. Following retirement Willie and Bob traveled to nearly every state in the Union. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He held every office and since 1971 has been Secretary-Treasurer of St. Joseph Typographical Union No. 40. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilberta; his parents; one sister, Margaret; and a brother, Jesse Paul Ward Jr. Survivors: daughters, Leisa Gayle Merritt, Juanita Boles; son, Richard Stephen Ward and daughter –in-law, Holli, Clemmons , North Carolina; grandchildren, Matt, Bob, Andrew, Rachel, and Meredith; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister, Ada Branham, Buena Vista, Virginia; brother, William Dale Ward, Sullivan, Illinois; companion, Louise Muse; friend, Karen Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin M. Young, 58, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his home. He was born September 23, 1954 to Floyd and Dorothy Young in St. Joseph, Missouri. Kevin married Cheryl Elliott on July 20, 1974. She survives of the home. He was a 1972 graduate from Central High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Missouri Western State University. Kevin proudly served in the United States Army. He worked as a CPA in his own firm, Young and Company, which later merged to become Liechti, Franken and Young. Kevin was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moila and was a member of the St. Joseph Boat and Yacht Club for 27 years, where he served as Commodore in 1986. He enjoyed boating and working outside. Kevin loved his family very much, especially his bride and three girls. Later in life he also cherished the time he got to spend with his beloved grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: wife; daughters, Tiffany Tryon (Lance), Michele Young (Aaron Hawkins), Kylie Ellis (Bryson); grandsons, Peyton and Tanner Tryon, Braylon Ellis; brothers, Leslie “Butch” Young (Vickie), Steve Young (Denise), Curt Young (Barb); and numerous nieces and nephews. Arlin Aubrey “Dinker” Milligan, 56, Barnard, Missouri, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Dinker was born March 28, 1956 in Maryville, Missouri. His parents were Ardian “Moon” and Burna D. (Harmon) Milligan and Loretta K. Milligan.
Dinker was a graduate of Maryville High School and a member of the Maitland Christian Church.
He was united in marriage to Tammy Ferris, November 17, 1988 at the Christian Church in Skidmore, Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his Father and Mother, and Kathleen Bauman, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Survivors include: his wife Tammy of the home, Barnard; children, Danny Marsh, Adam Marsh and Tamora Finnell; mother Loretta Milligan Stevens; sisters Belinda D. Milligan and DeeDee Waske; brothers Harley L. Milligan and Fritz Waske.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, February 02, 2013, at the Christian Church in Maitland with funeral services following at 2:00 PM.
Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, Missouri.
