A St Joseph man sentenced to prison for accidentally shooting his best friend two years ago is back in jail, accused of violating the terms of his probation.
Officials say Paul Tracy, now 20, failed to appear for drug court and a warrant was issued. He’s being held under $25-thousand bond.
Tracy pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in January, 2011.
In his plea, Tracy admitted he and Dakota Nell had smoked marijuana together and then took turns pointing a .38 caliber pistol at each other. Nell was killed when the gun went off.
Tracy was released after 120 days of shock time on a seven year prison sentence. A probation violation hearing has not yet been scheduled.
