Kansas City police arrested a man who is suspected of fleeing after his car hit a school bus, causing it to tip over.
No one was seriously injured when the bus, from the Success Academy at Knotts, carrying five students and two adults was hit Thursday afternoon near Swope Park.
Success Academy is an alternative school for kindergarten through sixth graders.
The children and adults escaped through a rear door. Power was out briefly because the bus brought down power lines when it tipped over.
Police say the suspect was taken to a hospital Thursday evening for treatment of injuries from the accident.
